Player Tips: Interparty roleplay between players for any TTRPG

It's great to engage with the world your GM puts in front of you, but engaging with other player and making the bonds of why you are a party (even in a one-shot) stronger, and making other people comfortable with RP is honestly so great. You'll feel awesome as a player, and will help to make the game more fun for everyone else too!

Continuing our Mindful Gaming series: Let’s use emotional intentionality to be good stewards of our community and make sure vulnerable and marginalized folks aren't left out. How do we get everyone to want to be at our table, and make the games themselves freaking fantastic? By prioritizing inclusion and diversity. Doing that is easier than you might think

I love Critical Role! I love watching friends have fun, in any capacity, and I have gotten so much out of it in learning to be a better player and GM. I mean, it all basically comes down to "Don't forget to love each other" tbh haha

Things I dig: Combat wheelchair (DND 5e)

The combat wheelchair is a super cool thing that not only empowers players but adds nuance about your world not being ableist in certain ways, and I think that's dope.
Details about the chair (Seriously the art in the book is SO COOL. You could access it for that alone and get so much out of it!)

Things I dig: Carousing (Downtime activity for D&D or any TTRPG system)
Saturday Nov 05, 2022

Carousing is basically just letting your players get themselves into a delicious bit of trouble... spend some coin, regain sanity points, commit some light treason... I love it. You should be using it between adventures!

I'm starting the Mindful Gaming Series: we'll talk about how we can use Gaming to strengthen our mindfulness, specifically to enable emotional intentionality to to observe our thoughts and feelings without judgment, and use our newly regulated emotions and behaviors to decrease feelings of stress and anxiety. Today's topic is about reducing the burnout from work/life that I'm sure many of us are dealing with, through playing tabletops!

Rude/unpleasant characters can be fun to play but know you run the very real risk of making the rest of your table dislike and resent you if you play this kind of character. But you can absolutely explore that story as long as you keep a few things in mind. When interparty conflict is done right, it can be pretty great. Try this out in a one-shot if you're able, it's a cool avenue to 'try' things without necessarily committing to it.

Maitreyi Plays Games
Maitreyi is an Indian woman in Canada, learning to be a better TTRPG GM, a better player, and a better person!
Hello there! I started getting into tabletops in 2019 and have been doing some kind of content creation as a creative outlet for a little while. My blogging days started with a Xanga.. before LiveJournal…
I love writing but I never know what to write about. Enter tabletops. There is so much to learn and so much to engage with! It’s social, but there is a big element of individual engagement if you want! It’s the perfect hobby for me!
The learning-based format of my content was inspired by my desire to ask a billion questions to anyone and everyone who was willing to answer them, and knowing that I am far, far from an expert. I am very intentionally putting myself in positions of learning and am getting a LOT out of it! I find this approach also lets me feel like I’m pulling a bit of life into rules on a page and dice rolls - and what is this glorious pasttime if not driven by life!
An I’m-still-learning-format is fairly unusual for the tabletop content creation space, but I hope it makes the whole thing feel more approachable and accessible.
